"Damp-toxins" are the root of many ailments - drinking water infused with dry-roasted Job's tears (Coix seeds or pearl barley) consistently can help eliminate years of accumulated toxins and target stubborn, deep-seated dampness.

Use 15–20g of dry-roasted Job's tears; steep in boiling water for 15–20 minutes before drinking.

You can continue to refill with boiling water 2–3 times, and the softened seeds can also be eaten.

For those with Yang deficiency (cold hands and feet): Add a few dried longans and red dates.

For those with Yin deficiency and excess fire (prone to internal heat): Add two slices of lemon.

For those with Qi and blood deficiency: Add some goji berries.

How to dry-roast Job's tears

Dry-roasted Job's tears: Slowly roast the seeds over low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring constantly until they turn slightly yellow or emit a popcorn-like aroma.

An iron wok is best for this process; avoid non-stick pans, as the coating may peel off when subjected to high heat without oil or liquid.

Once roasted, let the seeds cool completely before storing them in an airtight container. Rinse with water before use.
